The Riverland women’s basketball team came back from a nearly three week break a little bit rusty as it lost 75-66 at Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wis. Wednesday.

The Blue Devils (9-5 overall) trailed from the start and weren’t able to get back in the game.

“We were out-played the entire game,” RCC head coach Suzy Hebrink said. “They just shot extremely well and we had too many turnovers.”

RCC had beaten Western 72-55 in Austin Nov. 12, but things were different this time around.

“We looked like we were still on break,” Hebrink said. “We were a little flat, and people were sick or hurt. But they’re in no different situation and I expected us to play better.”

RCC was led by three Austin grads as Rebekah Aase scored 15 points, Robin Arjes added 12 points and Sophia Hebrink chipped in 11 points.
