Austin residents will have a chance to discuss Minnesota conservation programs with Sen. Dan Sparks, DFL-Austin, on Monday night.

The Izaak Walton League is featuring Sparks at its meeting Jan. 9. Sparks will be there to discuss the Legacy Amendment and other relevant conservation topics like coal pollution, solar standards and nuclear energy.

Sparks serves on the Minnesota Senate’s energy committee and is also on the Clean Water Council.

The meeting will be held in the Izaak Walton League Cabin at Todd Park at 7 p.m. Monday night. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.
