Austin’s Zonta Club wants to honor an outstanding woman.
The club is seeking nominations for its Women of Achievement Award, which will be given at a dinner in March.
Cheryl Retterath, Zonta vice president, said a good candidate for the award is a woman who has positively impacted the community, served as an extraordinary volunteer or accomplished something special at work.
The nominees and the woman selected to receive the award will be honored at Zonta’s Women of Achievement dinner at the Austin Country Club on March 27. Tickets are $30, with the proceeds going to three local scholarship programs supported by the Zonta Club.
The scholarships help three groups of women: high school students going on to college, college students working toward a business degree and non-traditional students who need funding for the GED test.
Nominations for the award must be completed by Jan. 27. Send nominations to sjones@sterlingstatebank.com or 1419 First Ave. SW in Austin.
