Anna Marie (Moretz) Clayton, 70

Anna Marie (Moretz) Clayton, 70 of Austin, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at her home after a brave battle against cancer.

She was born Dec. 1, 1941, in Northwood, Iowa, to Guy and Myrtle (Brunsvold) Moretz. She grew up in Northwood and obtained her GED. On Nov. 21, 1973, she married Daniel Clayton from Austin, Minn.

The couple lived in Austin where she worked several jobs and with Dan, raised six children. She attended St. Olaf Church and was active in many of the church’s outreach ministries. Anna was proud to be a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagle’s Auxillary and served as Madame President of the Auxillary for two terms. Her hobbies included gardening, embroidery, word puzzles, cooking, homemaking and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel; daughter, Cheryl and Paul Jenkins (Austin); daughter, Robyn and Mark Byers (Austin); son, Randy Pedersen (Austin); daughter, Elizabeth and Brad Mulholland (Lakeville); son, Rodney Pedersen (Austin); son, Ryan and Jennifer Pedersen (Visalia, CA); 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Eskildson (Loyal, Wis.); brother, Russell Moretz (Hanlantown, IA); sister, Marjorie Low (Northwood, IA), brother Arthur Moretz (Northwood); brother, Wayne Moretz (Bozeman, MT); brother, Alan Moretz (Northwood, Iowa).

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Richard Moretz and Donald Moretz; brother-in-law, Glen Eskildson; sisters-in-law, Perilan Moretz, and Irene Moretz.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. Kristi Koppel officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. There will be a 6 p.m. Eagles memorial service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Casket bearers: grandsons, Mike Carney, Chad Myers, Jacob Mulholland, Matthew Jenkins, Brady Mulholland, Joshua Pedersen, and Ethan Pedersen. Lunch will follow services at St. Olaf Church.
