Public Skates at Packer Arena this week will be: Monday, Feb. 27 from 5 to 6:15 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 29 from 5 to 6 p.m. You can skate during open skate for $4 if you use your own skates or rent a pair from us for $1. Check with us later that week for weekend times. Public Skates in March will be held at Riverside Arena, dates and times to be determined.

Austin will host the Minnesota Sports Federation youth volleyball tournament on March 10 and 11. The public is welcome to come and watch with age groups from U12 to U18. We will have more information on the number of teams and start times the closer we get to the tournament.

Come and enjoy the 38th Annual Ice Show “Fire and Ice” which will be held on March 10 at 7 p.m. and 11th at 2 p.m. at Riverside Arena. Tickets are available at Austin Hy-Vee, from your favorite skater or at the door, adults are $8, students age 6 to 18 and seniors age 65 are $5, children 5 and under are free.

March 16 is the Shamrock Open youth wrestling tournament will be held at the Austin High School. Wrestling will begin at 6:15 p.m. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Try a little MARCH MADNESS on the 17th and 18th as Park and Recreation, along with some of the area Youth Associations host the “You Wanna What” at the Oak Park Mall. This is a chance to try some sports and play some games. Last year you could try archery, square bag/round hole, softball and soccer as well as games of go fish and more. The Austin Bruins next home game will be March 2 and 3, game time is 7:05 p.m. at Riverside Arena.
