Wednesday, Feb. 1 marks the one-year anniversary of Pacelli High School student Joe Lewison’s death. Lewison was killed last year after the truck he was driving collided with a train south of Austin.

The second annual Joe Lewison Memorial snowmobile ride will take place Saturday, Feb. 18 starting at 9 a.m. at Woody’s Bar and Grill in Rose Creek. If there is no snow, the family will still hold a gathering at Woody’s, which will include a silent auction.

“We have a lot of amazing support.” said Mary Lewison, Joe’s mother. “We are blessed, we are just truly blessed that God allows us to feel Joe’s presence today, and a part of us is in Heaven.”

Mary said her family would spend time together Wednesday, including eating at Joe’s favorite restaurant and attending Mass for Joe. She also said the family will recognize other area families who have lost loved ones today.
