Hayfield boys win a share of the HVL Gold title

LA CRESCENT — The Hayfield boys basketball team won a share of the HVL Gold Division title when it beat La Crescent (4-19 overall, 3-9 HVL Gold) 61-47 on the road Friday.
The Vikings (18-5 overall, 10-2 HVL Gold) will share the title with Kasson-Mantorville and it is their first title since 2001.
“It’s huge to be at the top of this conference,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said. “It speaks to the great season we’ve had so far and hopefully it continues with some other hardware in the playoffs.”
Brady Kramer led Hayfield with 16 points.
The Komets will play in the HVL title game, due to winning a tie-breaker with Hayfield.
