Mary Ramona “Mona” Anderson, 70, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, in Dallas, Texas.
Mona, the daughter of Edward L. and Juanita (Estlick) Anderson, was born Sept. 8, 1941, in Austin, Minn. She attended Queen of Angels Grade School and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1958. Mona had three children, two sons and a daughter. Mona resided in Tehran, Iran; Amsterdam, Holland; Sacramento, Calif., and Dallas, Texas.
In 1999, Mona returned to Austin, where she was employed by Hormel in the corporate office as an administrative assistant. She worked there until she retired in September 2006. After her retirement, Mona moved back to Dallas to be near her children and grandchildren, but she greatly anticipated her four sisters’ Annual Dallas Road Trip visit.
Mona was happiest at family gatherings, especially if they included a lively game of cards. She appreciated a well-written book. An excellent cook, Mona built and used an extensive collection of cookbooks over the years.
Mona is survived by her sons: Shahram Shahi, Dallas, Texas, Shaz Anderson (Sherry), Plano, Texas; daughter, Tammy Minnis (Jeff Wing), Wylie, Texas; brother, Charles (Linda) Anderson of Austin; four sisters: Diane Floridi, Eau Claire, Wis., Linda Leopold, St. Louis Park, Cindy (Brian) Wesley, Wells, and Suzie (Jon) Brimacomb, Farmington, Crystal Anderson, Plano, and Sam Minnis, Wylie — her two grandchildren — were very special to Mona.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Juanita Anderson and her older brothers, Edward Jr. and Richard. Mona was a dear sister, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all of her family.
