Tooth problem turns to waiting game

“You know how strong of tongues they have — (cows) — one lick could probably slice open your cheek.” — Casey Vilt, age 10
I’m not sure if anyone has had that opportunity. I don’t think Casey has either.
My own episode occurred Monday night when I took out the garbage and noticed no others. When I went out to bring it in the next morning it was the only one in sight and was still full.
Looking south there were some recycling containers that had been emptied a couple houses down as our newspapers sat in the basement. This will entitle me to transport my newspapers to the right day; perhaps a project of aging.
I did walk to the dentist to see if anything could be done to salvage my partial tooth.
The dental work turned out to be short lived. The future of what remains is the tooth fading. Now it’s a waiting game.
On my walk back I checked in on Larry Diggens at the car corner and there he was.
It’s always nice to see Larry even if it’s just to say “Hi.” Larry assisted me when I was hired at the plant. And as usual Larry had some story’s to share that included some good laughs.
As for Mello and Fred they offered their biggest barking bout since arriving here. I went to the stairwell and looked out the window to see a dog about the size of Fred who was loose on the sidewalk next door. It was caught up with up all the barking before it turned and headed north.
Last week Jeanne took the dogs out to the Poppe farm where the dogs are free to run around. It’s something they miss.
The couch cover has a few tears contributed from both of them.
