A 20-year-old Austin man who sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant in 2010 was sentenced Thursday in Mower County Court.

Luis Adrian Gonzalez was convicted of third-degree narcotic sales, a felony. He is sentenced to 20 years supervised probation, 80 hours of community service, must submit to random chemical testing, not use alcohol or drugs and complete chemical dependency training.

According to court documents, Gonzalez was arrested in March 2010 after a confidential informant purchased at least 3.9 grams of meth from him on two different occasions.

When officers searched his home, in the 900 block of 10th Avenue SW, they found marijuana and a marijuana pipe in his bedroom.

Police Capt. Dave McKichan followed the informant when he purchased the meth from Gonzalez, and an officer with the Southeast Minnesota Drug Task Force also followed and photographed Gonzalez.

Gonzalez pleaded guilty to the third-degree narcotic sales charge in January as part of a plea agreement. Two other charges for second-degree drug sale were dismissed.
