Rain, rain come again

“Teachers will not have a major impact on the way kids use their minds until they come to know how their student’s minds work.” — Debbie Meier from Schools That Work

I believe all the snow that was predicted to come, didn’t. I take joy in that.

I’m one of those few who chose not to listen to the weather. It warms my heart to see the rainfall outside the window, though it’s probably a cold rain.

And now students are making their way past the window where they may be concerned about the barking coming from the front room window.

Now we have a new element, the sirens. Just this past day Fred demonstrated his howling as the sirens passed by. It took Mello a few moments to debut his own howls. The howling has continued when they make those siren runs to the hospital or turn fast heading west.

Mello prefers to keep an eye on the students as the 3 o’clock hour rolls past. With no one coming from her post she climbs down to the floor and whines for her lack of students passing by.

The next step is for Mello to come up and put her right paw on the couch and drag her paw down. They do more than that when I’m not around.

Mello then pulls the couch-cover down. This I interpret to mean that she needs to go to the outdoor bathroom. On a day like today the back yard still hosts ice, water and mud as well as hard frozen mud.

For the moment, Mello is now chewing on his Chicken Basted Chips she hoped to bury in the couch. This hasn’t worked well so she has joined Fred on the carpet to gain some headway. Fred is just lying on the floor trying to manage his own oversized chip and still the snow is not coming.

Lydia, our eldest, called today and talked about everything. She’s attending school again; this time in Winona and she’s becoming acquainted with Past Life Aggressions Therapy—hmmmm.
