The People’s Quill: Wait With Me

Cold and lonely is the vigil
While we wait for winter’s end.
Far beneath the snow so white
Hides the light of summer’s ghetto.
Hear my pleas
O nature’s glory
Curse the darkness of the hour.
Sing a song of love and passion
Ring the bells of youth victorious.
Warm my heart with smiles and laughter
Plant the seeds of springs’ delight.
Hush my soul, be ever patient
Like the night awaits dawn.
Gentle arms will soon embrace us
Lullabies will take us home.
