The Riverland baseball team beat Western Wisconsin Tech 6-5 in the opener of a doubleheader but lost the nightcap 5-3 in Riverland Thursday.
The Blue Devils (27-10 overall) tallied 11 hits in their win, but had just five hits in the loss.
“Their first pitcher threw real hard, then they brought out a kid who threw real slow and we couldn’t adjust to it,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said.
RCC freshman Michael Knutson, who is from Jefferson, Wis., went 5-for-7 with two doubles on the day.
