Christopher M. Guy, 51, formerly of Austin, Minn., died Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Boise, Idaho.

Chris was born on Jan. 28, 1961, in Chisholm, Minn. He attended Oakland Elementary School, Ellis Junior High School and Austin High School. Chris served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1982. While in the Army, Chris had an opportunity to spend time in South Korea. Chris was married to Audrey “Joy” Kloss on April 9, 1986. They made their home in the Las Vegas area and later moved to Boise.

Chris was employed as a ranch hand for Judy and Darol Forsythe of Boise at the time of his death. He had worked on their ranch for nearly 10 years. Co-workers described him as a gentle man who loved animals and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Chris’ thick curly blond hair and full beard earned him the nickname “The Viking”.

Chris is survived by his parents Kenneth and Shirley Guy, Austin; brother and sisters Deborah J. (Rick) Richard, Joliet, Mont., Bradley Guy, Austin, Catherine (Peter) Walker, Austin; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; Aunt Sandra (Bruce) Rampelberg; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy.

A private family graveside service is planned for Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Fairview Cemetery, Oakland, Minn. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
