Mower County almost ready to crown 59th Dairy Princess

ADAMS — It’s time again for Mower County Dairy Princess candidates to converge.
The 59th Mower County Dairy Princess will be crowned at the group’s annual banquet, Friday, April 13, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the dairy social hour, followed by the banquet meal at 7:30 p.m.
The 2012 candidates are Lauren Servick, daughter of Donald and Stephanie Servick of LeRoy; Calli Smith, daughter of Randy and Val Smith of Adams; Christine Vrieze, daughter of Ron and Robin Vrieze of Racine; Nicole Jax, daughter of Doug and Becky Jax of Waltham; Faith Miller, daughter of Lynn and Sherilyn Miller of LeRoy; and McKinzie Smith, daughter of Rick and Tracy Smith of Adams.
Four candidates will be eligible to compete at the state contest in May, for a chance to be selected as one of the 12 finalists vying for the title of Princess Kay of the Milky Way.
The Milkmaid program is open to third- and fourth-grade girls whose parents work on a dairy farm.
The 2012 Milkmaid is Victoria Hansen, daughter of Corey and Kaye Hansen of Austin.
The banquet will include live and silent scholarship auctions and door prizes.
