Packer boys make strides, finish third

Despite lowering the team score by 21 strokes the Austin Packers boys golf team still came in third to behind Faribault and Mankato West during a triangular in Faribault Tuesday.
Austin shot a 345 putting them second behind Mankato West who had a 341. Faribault got the win with a 326.
“We are still trying to find the core four scores needed to be competitive,” said coach Chris Gogolewski. “They just haven’t come yet and with a short season there isn’t much time to wait for improvements if we are expecint to be near the middle of the conference.”
Isaac Christianson was meet medalist with a 80. Alex Thorson wasn’t too far behind with a score of 83. Tony Baudler shot a 89, James Snee a 93, Ethan Morey a 94 and Cole Kroneman a 99.
Thursday the Packers will be at the Northfield Invitational and then Friday they will be in New Prague for an invitational.
