WABASHA — What a difference three days can make.
After losing to Wabasha-Kellogg 17-1 in six innings earlier this week, the Southland baseball team bounced back and knocked off the Falcons (7-2 overall, 7-2 Three Rivers) 6-3 on the road Friday.
Southland sophomore Lukas Anderson picked up the win by scattering six hits and striking out seven and he went three-for-four at the plate to help his cause.
“It’s probably the best game Luke has pitched al year,” Southland head coach Scott Retterath said.
The Rebels (5-5 overall, 5-5 Three Rivers) committed just two errors after they were plagued with miscues on Tuesday.
“Maybe they took us a little lightly after the first game, but we played better defense tonight and that wins most games,” Retterath said.
