ADAMS — The Southland softball team swept Rushford-Peterson (3-6 overall) by scores of 7-2 and 19-6 in five innings in Rose Creek Monday.

The Rebels (5-3 overall) posted 12 hits in the nightcap and Lindsey Bottema, Celina Yunker and Haley Kirkpatrick all tripled in the opener.

“The girls stayed patient and waited for pitches they could hit hard,” Southland head coach Greg Schulte said.

Freshman Sam Emanuel picked up her first career pitching win in the nightcap.
