Tracy P. Brandt, 42, of Austin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 31, 2012.

Tracy was born March 26, 1970, in Austin to Harold and Sandi (Rehnelt) Brandt. He grew up in Austin where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Edward’s Catholic Church. Tracy graduated from Austin High School. He went on to attend Austin Community College, Moorhead State University and he graduated from Mankato State University. Tracy excelled in sports, and his passion was football. He is a member of the Moorhead State Hall of Fame Team.

Tracy loved spending time with his family, especially the love of his life, his daughter, McKenna. Most recently, Tracy enjoyed beating his dad in golf and reminding him of it.

Survivors include his daughter, McKenna Brandt, Byron; parents: Harold and Sandi Brandt, Austin; sister: Chris (Ron) Steiner, Circle Pines; niece and nephew: Cassie Steiner and Jacob Steiner, both of Circle Pines; grandfather: Leonard Rehnelt, Austin; special friend: Jen Hoff, Minneapolis; aunts and uncles: Steve (Rita) Rehnelt, Wabasha, Jeanette (Steve) Myers, Claremont, Roberta (Mark) Aswegan, Ramsey, Mike (Lila) Rehnelt, Hayfield, Robert Rehnelt, Zumbro Falls, Kenneth (Joyce) Brandt, Austin; and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Phillip and Evelyn Brandt, LeVonne Rehnelt.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements are by Mayer Funeral Home.

Tracy will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Blessed be his memory.
