William Mallory

William (Bill) Henry Mallory, age 83 years and 14 days, was welcomed home by God on April 5, 2012.

Bill was born on March 22, 1929, to William (Bud) Henry Mallory, Sr. and Irma Mallory in St Louis, Mo. He spent his childhood years in Belleville, Ill. and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1947.

In 1950 he entered the US Army and served in Germany from 1950-1952. After returning from the service, he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Brownlow. Into this marriage were born two children Kathryn Anne and Steven William. After 35 years of dedicated employment in various managerial positions at Hormel Foods, William and Donna retired to their lake home in Walker.

Bill was a man of great character, strength, integrity and had a profound joy for life. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Good Samaritan, North Memorial Hospice, and the Mayo Clinic for their loving care of William.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years; daughter: Kathryn Lee and fiancé Gailard Fischer; granddaughter: Alexandra Lee; son: Steven Mallory and wife Rosemary; grandson: Marc Mallory and wife Ann; great grandson: Noah; brother: Robert Mallory and wife Shirley.

Bill is preceded in death by his father William Henry Mallory, Sr. and his mother Irma Mallory.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker at 2 p.m. Memorial preferred to the Department of Development-Heart Research, Mayo Clinic, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55905-9817 or North Memorial Hospice Foundation, 3300 Oakdale Ave., Robbinsdale, MN 55422.
