LAKE MILLS, Iowa — A 52-year-old Albert Lea man died Saturday night after a motorcycle crash in Winnebago County west of Lake Mills.

Michael Todd Armstrong was westbound on U.S. Highway 69 when he lost control of his 2008 Harley-Davidson and went into the north ditch, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The crash happened at about 11 p.m. near the highway’s intersection with 212th Avenue.

The State Patrol said Armstrong was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in a field. The motorcycle ended up in the ditch.

The crash remains under investigation.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Lake Mills Police Department, Winnebago County Sheriff’s office and Lake Mills ambulance.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea.
