Education briefs: AHS grad makes national academic honor society

Margaret Darling, a Luther College senior from Austin, was inducted into the Luther chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa national academic honor society at a ceremony held Saturday, April 14 in the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus.
Darling is the daughter of Lisa Darling of Austin. She is majoring in political science and Spanish at Luther, and is a 2008 graduate of Austin High School.
Scholarship: Boucher
Jared Boucher, of Austin, was awarded a $1,000 Academic Achievement scholarship from Bemidji State University.
Graduation: Lukes
Tana Lukes, of Austin, graduated from Creighton University in spring 2012. Lukes earned a bachelor’s degree.
Graduation: Thistlethwaite
Amanda Jean Thistlethwaite, of Austin, graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute in spring 2012. Thistlethwaite earned an associate’s degree in business.
Graduation: Nunez
Kristina Nunez, of Austin, graduated from the University of Wisconsin — Milwaukee in spring 2012. Nunez earned a master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
Graduation: Johnson
Allison Johnson, daughter of Richard and Michele Johnson of Austin, was awarded a Psychology Department Distinction Award from Saint Mary’s University.
