Georgette Michaele Bush, 55, of Bowie, Md. and formerly of Austin, Minn., died unexpectedly on May 23 at her home.

Georgette was born July 16, 1956, in Austin, Minn. to Thayre and Pauline (Bauer) Bush. She graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin in 1974 and then Mankato State University in 1985. Georgette will be greatly missed. She had a wonderful smile and a great sense of humor. She was devoted to family and friends. Her curious nature led her to explore during her lifetime. Her career with Customs and Border Protection spanned from Minneapolis, to Chicago to Washington D.C. She was an avid reader and could speak intelligently on most any topic. She was congenial and loved to talk to people. She cooked gourmet meals. She liked to meditate and she loved going to the movies. She is survived by her siblings, Terry (Linda) Bush, June (Steve) Barent, Janet Rohne, Nina Bush, Sherry (Howard Seim) Bush and Connie (Russ Hartwig) Bush; nieces and nephews; cousins; one aunt, Lorraine Cartwright; and special friends Russel Morris and Cindy Schoonmaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Harlan Rohne.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at Hiawatha Valley Baptist Church, 27675 271st Street; Red Wing, MN 55066, with the Rev. Chuck Friemel officiating.
