Orville Nordean Jacobson, 95, died on May 20, 2012, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minn.

Orville was born on April 5, 1917, the son of Ole and Stella (Rouhoff) Jacobson in Hayfield. Orville attended Hayfield High School. Orville was united in marriage to Marjorie Janes on Dec. 12, 1940, at her parents home. She died on Feb. 20, 1988. He later married Dorothy Nielsen-Haugen on Sept. 11, 1988. Orville worked at Farmers Co-op, Gulbransen Oil in Oslo, and farmed. He was a member of the Cemetery Board, Mantorville Theatre Company Board, Lions Club, Farmers Club, First Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon at church. He enjoyed music, Norwegian Readings, woodworking, cards and Disney World.

Orville is survived by his children, Roger (Betty) Jacobson, Hayfield, James (LaVonne) Jacobson, Rochester, Minn., Sharon (Harry) Roberts, Hayfield, Robert Jacobson, Rochester, Jon (Kimberly) Jacobson, Hayfield, Shelley (Paul) Steger, Hayfield; 32 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Verna Hancock, Akron, Ohio; step children, Michael (Delaine) Haugen, Minneapolis, Patrick (Barbara) Haugen, Farmington, Minn., Judith (Allan) Wright, Dodge Center, Minn., Virginia (Gerald) Hyland, Hayfield, Minn., Diane (Stephen) Grier, Apple Valley, and Sara (William) Clegg, Sonoma, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; brother-in-law, Robert Hancock; and daughter-in-law, Darcy Jacobson.

The funeral service for Orville will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, 109 Main St. in Hayfield with Rev. Charlie Talcott officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second St. NW, Hayfield, Minn., and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
