BLOOMING PRAIRIE — The last time the Blooming Prairie softball team played New Richland-HEG, it didn’t score a run.
Things were much different this time around as the Awesome Blossoms beat the Panthers (12-3 overall) 17-1 in BP Tuesday.
BP was the first team to score more than five runs against NRHEG this season as it drew 16 walks.
“We were much more patient at the plate this time around,” BP head coach Ali Mach said. “We worked a lot of counts and got on base.”
BP (13-2 overall) has now won 10 in a row, including a victory over Kasson-Mantorville, which is ranked No. 2 in Class ‘AA’, Saturday.
“I wasn’t certain when the girls were really going to come together, but I’ve seen it this week,” Mach said. “The girls are really starting to gel.”
