The YMCA held a softball camp for girls kindergarten through fifth grade on April 28. Austin High School Varsity Coach Tina Strauss and AHS players organized a great morning of passing, bunting, fielding, hitting and much more.
“It was great to see the AHS players share their knowledge, skills and energy with the younger players,” Ruth Chamberlain said. “I can’t thank Coach Strauss and players enough for organizing this event and sharing their expertise and knowledge with the girls. After working on their skills the girls had the opportunity to have some fun by playing base running races and received autographs from the AHS players and Coach Strauss.”
“I can’t express how much I appreciate the support that Austin High School gives to the Y to help support and nurture are youth” said Chamberlain. “Thank you, Austin softball team and good luck with your season.”
