An Austin teen who allegedly threw a hammer after someone reported him to police for possessing marijuana changed one plea to guilty Thursday in Mower County Court.
Michale Allen Dieser, 18, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor fifth-degree assault. As part of a plea agreement, felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor fourth-degree damage to property were dismissed. Officers learned that Dieser got violent shortly after someone turned him in for alleged possession of marijuana on April 17.
According to the court complaint, Dieser punched and kicked walls, fought with another man and then threw a hammer at him. The complaint states the man who intervened also complained that the hammer hit his shin.
Dieser’s sentencing is set for Sept. 28.
