Area artists age 13 and older should start preparing their submissions for the 27th annual Festival Art Show.

Entrants must bring paintings, sculptures, drawings and photography to the Austin Area Art Center in Oak Park Mall between noon and 4 p.m., June 29 to July 1. All entries must be ready to display. The entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 each for additional entries, with a limit of four.

Monetary awards will be presented for the professional, pro-am, and amateur categories, as well as a $500 purchase award from the city of Austin. Art for the purchase award must be entered for sale.

Mayor Tom Stiehm will present the City Purchase Award during Freedom Fest Activities at 2 p.m. on July 4 at Bandshell Park. All other awards and prize monies will be presented Sunday, July 8 at a 3 p.m. ceremony.

The Austin Area Art Center will choose which pieces to display based on space and merit, and those pieces will be on display until July 29.
