While the total Austin homes sold in 2012 is up slightly from 2011, the total sold in May and median sales price are down from a year ago.

Thirty-two homes were sold in May, compared to 34 in May 2011, and the median sales price remains at $75,000 for 2012, compared to $79,000 in 2011, according to data released Monday by the Southeast Minnesota Association of Realtors. The 142 homes sold this year is still slightly better than the 138 sold through five months last year.

β€œThe number of new listings of homes for sale are still trending upwards, which is giving buyers a good selection and continuing the busy spring market into the summer months,” said Angie Schott, SEMAR MLS President.
