Two previously convicted predatory offenders were both sentenced Friday in Mower County Court to prison time.

Cory Lee Cassidy, 28, of Austin, and Robert Carl Goodew, 20, of Blooming Prairie were both convicted of felony failure to register as a predatory offender. Cassidy was sentenced to 24 months in prison, while Goodew received 14 months.

According to the court complaints, Cassidy gave his probation officer a false address in Austin, and police later discovered he was a predatory offender when the probation officer contacted them. Cassidy was already in the Mower County Jail on other charges. Cassidy was originally charged in 2002 for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. According to his criminal records, he also violated his terms of registration in 2008 and in February of 2011, as well. The most recent conviction stems from March 2011.

Goodew was turned into police by a former landlord, according to his court complaint. The landlord said Goodew was spending little time at his registered home. Police later discovered that Goodew did not notify officials of his new home, and Goodew was charged in November 2011. He was originally charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim 13 or younger, third- and fifth-degree assault in 2009. While he was convicted of third-degree assault, he was still required to register as a predatory offender.
