Wendell Bruce Stoltz, 61

Wendell Bruce Stoltz, 61, of Austin, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, June 23, 2012, surrounded by his family at St. Marks Care Center. He left this World the same day he came in. On June 23, 1951, Wendell was born to Daniel and Fern (Matthiesen) Stoltz in Austin. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corp. for two years. After his honorable discharge, he came back home and went to work at the Owatonna Canning Company. In 1972, he married Nancy Iverson in Austin, and the couple later divorced. In 1992, he went to work at Arnold Supply in Rochester and retired on Jan. 1, 2011. Wendell enjoyed sports and was a dedicated Vikings and Twins fan. He collected old music — record albums and such. He really enjoyed socializing at Culver’s.

Survivors include: one son, Cole Stoltz of Owatonna and one daughter, Leah (Scott) Lorence of Owatonna, seven grandchildren: Jesse, Whittney, Sydney, Lathan, Isaac, Isaiah and Brayden, two brothers; Daniel (Pam) Stoltz of Apple Valley, Larry Stoltz of Austin, three sisters: Marjorie Grubbs of Arizona, Beverly Finholdt of Austin, and Sandra (Herman) Smidt of Denver, and many other wonderful friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Darrell, Richard, Kenneth and Marvin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Worlein Funeral Home and one hour before the service. Interment will be at Rush Lake Cemetery, Rush Lake, Iowa on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 3 p.m. Memorials preferred to ALS Foundation. Military rites by American Legion Post 91 and V.F.W. Post 1216.
