Got talent?
The Mower County Fair is approaching, Tuesday, Aug. 7 through 12; and of course, that means another talent show.
The talent contest will be held this year at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, on the Godfather’s Fair Square Stage, across the street from the grandstand.
There are divisions for all ages: pre-teen, 13 through 19 and an open division. Judges will pick winners in each division and award $40 for first, $30 second and $20 for third place. First-place winners will go on to perform at the Minnesota State Fair.
There is an entry fee of $10 per act. Entry forms may be found in the Mower County Fair book, which has been distributed to all libraries, banks, and is available at the fairgrounds office or online at www.mowercountyfair.com.
Contestants must be a resident of Mower County. If a contestant won first place in previous years’ contests, that contestant shall enter a different division this year. Performance shall be limited to four minutes, and soloists using recordings must use no vocal back up. For any trouble finding a tape, call Vandy Newman, coordinator for the show.
Deadline for receiving entry forms is Aug. 9. For questions and information, call Newman at 507-437-4437 or 507-438-2237, or Denise at the fair office, 507-433-1868.
