ALBERT LEA — A 46-year-old man with two previous convictions of sexual abuse against children was charged Monday for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl.
Randy Lee Morrow, who has reportedly been living in Albert Lea, was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is being held in the Freeborn County jail on a conditional bail of $500,000 for the criminal sexual conduct charge plus a bail of $250,000 for failing to register as a predatory offender.
According to court documents, Morrow’s last known address in 2008 was Mexico City. He had allegedly been using the name Robert Morrow and was found living at 621 E. Eighth St. in Albert Lea.
Police were alerted to Morrow after receiving a report of inappropriate touching at the Albert Lea city pool. Morrow had reportedly sought out a girl there.
He was reported again that week coming to a bowling alley while the girl was there and giving her money.
After talking with the girl’s mother, police found out the girl had gone on several trips with Morrow and sometimes other girls since March or April to places such as Disney World in Orlando, Fla., Dollywood in eastern Tennessee, the beach community of Galveston, Texas, and Valley Fair in the Twin Cities. Morrow’s wife was usually not present.
According to court documents, the girl had also reportedly stayed overnight many times at Morrow’s home.
The inappropriate touching reportedly took place while the girl was at the house in Albert Lea and on trips to Florida and Tennessee, court records stated.
Morrow was previously convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in 1991 when he sexually assaulted a young girl. He was convicted in 1996 of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct of a 13-year-old boy.
He also has been charged with failing to register as a predatory offender at least once before and is classified as a Level 2 predatory offender.
