Jennylou Hall, 76, Austin

Jennylou Hall, 76, of Austin, Minn., died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

Jennylou Davin was born April 25, 1936, in Austin to Vernon and Lucille (Mallory) Davin. As a child, she moved with her family to Bemidji and attended school there. During her senior year in high school, the family moved to Rhinelander, Wis., where she graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1954. After graduation, Jennylou enlisted in the United States Army. She served her country for two years before moving to Austin, where she worked for Hormel Foods as a teletype operator.

On Dec. 7, 1957, Jennylou married Richard ‘Rick’ Hall at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. After having children, she was a stay-at-home mom until the kids were in school. She then began a 20-year career as a paraprofessional in special education for the Austin Public School system. Jennylou loved to explore small towns on camping trips, and she enjoyed reading. Her faith was very important to her. She attended community bible study and enjoyed volunteering and serving others through various area churches and community organizations, including the Evangelism Explosion group.

Survivors include her husband Rick of Austin; her children Cindy (Scott) Jasmin and Michael (Melissa) Hall, both of Austin; five grandchildren, Jacob, Scotty, Holly, Warren, and Rebecca; brother Gary (Paula) Davin of Sparks, Nev. She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Lucille Davin, and a younger brother, Louie.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Aug. 29, 2012, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. There will be a private family interment.
