The Austin Public Library is facing estimated repair costs of more than $800 following weekend damage to the building’s fountain and one of its windows.

According to a complaint, Austin police received a report Tuesday morning of one of the northwest windows being broken and damage to its granite water fountain on the west side of the building. Officers allegedly found a rock sitting near the broken window that was similar in size to the half-inch hole in the window’s outer pane.

Officers believed the damage was done over the weekend. A group of teenagers was allegedly kicked out of the library earlier, though it is unknown whether they had any part in the damage.
