Both northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Albert Lea were closed for two hours Monday morning after a semi rolled over, blocking both lanes.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash started after a 2000 Peterbuilt semi, which was driving southbound on the interstate near Exit 11, lost a steering tire. Reports say the semi driver then lost control and went through the median before tipping over in the northbound lanes.
It was carrying a load of soil.
The State Patrol says the semi’s driver, Timothy Daughter, 55, of Compton, Ark., suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
The crash reportedly took place just before 8 a.m. The State Patrol report stated lanes were blocked until 10:05 a.m.
Albert Lea police officers assisted at the scene.
