Opening night of the 128th annual Mower County Fair offered fun and excitement for thousands of people — except for two of them.
Austin police arrested a 16-year-old and 26-year-old both on probation violations, as two probation officers spotted them violating their terms Tuesday evening. According to the police report, a probation officer saw and recognized the 16-year-old, wearing all-red, gang-related clothing, which he is not supposed to do. An officer confronted the teen and allegedly found a spring-loaded switch-blade, which is a violation of probation, as well.
Another probation officer recognized the 26-year-old, who was violating terms by drinking alcohol. The 16-year-old was taken to a detention center in Red Wing, while the 26-year-old was taken to the Mower County jail.
