Two teenagers were taken to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester on Saturday after they collided on ATVs.
The Mayo 1 helicopter, Grand Meadow Ambulance and a Mower County Sheriff’s deputy went to a farm on 240th Street near Dexter at 7 p.m. Saturday after someone reported the two 17-year-olds had collided. One went over the handlebars and was knocked unconscious. The other injured his ankle. The unconscious teen was lifted before the deputy arrived, according to Mower County Chief Deputy Mark May. The sheriff’s report states that he was not wearing a helmet.
The teens were reportedly both traveling about 30 mph toward each other before they collided. The Sheriff’s Office did not have an update on either teen’s condition as of Monday morning.
