Norway native plans owl talk

Roar Solheim will speak at the Hormel Nature Canter Oct. 1.

The Austin Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is ready for some expertise, all the way from Norway.

Roar Solheim, senior curator of zoology at Kristians and Kommune in Norway and specifically an owl expert, will present to the public about owls at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1.

Solheim will give a presentation on some of the major types of owls and wildlife in Norway covering southern forests, western fjords, mountains and northern tundra regions. He has published papers on the following owls: pygmy, boreal, ural, great gray, tawny and snowy.
