Pearl Amundson, 85, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Pearl Marie Amundson, 85, of Albert Lea, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Andrea Myers will officiate. Interment will be in the North Round Prairie Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Pearl died on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community.

Pearl Marie Amundson was born on Oct. 7, 1926, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Edward and Addie (Nelson) Oberg. She attended Country School No. 48. On July 21, 1946, Pearl was united in marriage to James Amundson. The couple enjoyed ballroom dancing together. Pearl was an Avon Representative for 38 years, retiring at age 80. She enjoyed embroidery, baking, cooking and housecleaning. Pearl was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Eagles, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her children: Brian (Rita) Amundson of Albert Lea, Rebecca Loken of Northwood and Kevin (Suzanne) Amundson of White Bear Lake; grandchildren: Cory (Cassie) Amundson, Eric Amundson, Jonah (Tena) Tasker, Alex (Brittany) Manton and Danika Amundson; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Ethian, Addison, Kaylynn, Liam and Toryn; brother Emil “Swede” (Anna) Oberg; sisters-in-law: Shirley Oberg and Alitha Amundson; nieces and nephews.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James; infant children: Lonnie and Carol; brothers: Frank, James and Edward Oberg; sister-in-law Dorothy Oberg; and son-in-law Larry Loken.
