ALBERT LEA — An Albert Lea man has been arrested and charged with stabbing another man.

Albert Lea police arrested Hiram Abel Rodriguez-Reyes, 27, Thursday evening, according to a news release. Rodriguez-Reyes had fled the scene on the 1200 block of S. Newton Ave. on Wednesday.

He faces charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon involving substantial injury.

Rodriguez-Reyes reportedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen. The victim underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition Wednesday.

Police have not released the cause of the alleged assault.
