Clifford Gorman, 88, Austin

Clifford Gorman, 88, of Austin, Minn., a loving husband, father and grandfather died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father James Steffes, Father Charles Quinn and Father Paul Nelson officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion. There will be a 9:30 a.m. Rosary at St. Augustine Church on Friday. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Augustine Church.

Clifford was born May 22, 1924, in Wagner, S.D., to Alice and Frank Gorman. On Oct. 17, 1946, he was married to his sweetheart, Darlene Richardson, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1993. Clifford worked for Hormel in Austin for 41 years. He served in Company E, 161st Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army during World War II.

Clifford is survived by his son Patrick Gorman, Austin; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Gorman, Austin, Ann and Terry Flicek, Beloit, Wis., Amy Fischer, Ellsworth, Wis., Lisa and Duane Krones, Osage, Iowa; grandchildren, Katie and Nicholas Blaskey, Custer, Wis., Theresa and Derek Coleman, Beloit, Alicia Krones, Iowa City, Iowa, Samantha Krones, Des Moines, Iowa, Matthew Fischer, Ellsworth, Tiffany Fischer, White Bear Lake, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Casey Blaskey and Ashlyn Coleman; sister Lola Brantley, San Diego, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond; and sisters, Gladys and Arlene.
