Kathleen Denise (Maston) Cerny, 58, after a courageous fight with multiple sclerosis, passed away on Aug. 26, 2012, in Reno, Nev.

Kathy was born in Austin, Minn., on Sept. 17, 1953, to Howard and Eliza Mary (Exelby) Maston. She graduated from Austin High School in 1971. She attended the Austin Community College where she received a degree in nursing. Kathy married James Farnsworth and they had a son, Richard James Farnsworth. They later divorced and in the early 1980s, Kathy and her son, Richard, moved to California. On June 22, 1985, Kathy married her true love Steven Ray Cerny. Kathy and Steve lived in California, but found that moving to Nevada in 2002 was really home.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Eliza Maston and her sister, Jayne Bautista. She is survived by her husband Steve Cerny; two children, Richard Farnsworth, and Margaret Eliza Charlotte Cerny; her sister, Lucy (Ron) Johansen, of Waconia, Minn.; Uncle Walt and Aunt Alice Tomhave, Austin, Minn.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A memorial services will be held in Reno, Nev., on Sept. 15, 2012, with family and friends.
