Louise M. Landherr, 81, of Austin, Minn., passed away on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the Adams Healthcare Center.

Louise was born Feb. 28, 1931, on the family farm south of Rose Creek, Minn., to Aloysius and Elizabeth (Huemann) Landherr. She attended the rural Mower County District No. 87 country school through eighth grade and then attended and graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1949. Louise worked for the United States Department of Agriculture ASCS for 40-plus years. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and had an honorary life membership with the National Association of ASCS County Office Employees. She was also a member of several travel groups: First Class Connection through First Farmers & Merchants Bank, Sterling Silver Club through Sterling Bank and Northlanders Travel Group out of Minneapolis. Her love of travel took her to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Central America, the Caribbean and many places throughout the entire United States. Louise served as secretary/treasurer of the South Winds Townhouse Association where she has lived for the past 12 years and was also a member of the Rose Creek Literary Club. She has been a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek for many years and was also a member of the Rosary Society.

Louise had a beautiful, loving relationship with all of her nieces and nephews and their families and was fondly remembered by her family nickname “Toots.” She loved and treasured her family and friends dearly and was so very grateful for the wonderful close relationships she developed on the many trips she was able to make during her lifetime.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius and Elizabeth Landherr; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilmer and Vangie Landherr, Eugene and Nancy Landherr; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosella and Robert Jorgenson, Elizabeth Landherr, Joseph Matheis; nephew, Richard Matheis; great-nieces and -nephews, Michelle Johnson, Daniel Hagen, Jenna Lobb, Mark Jorgensen, Joshua Jorgenson, Ryan Gordon.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek with Father Thomas Loomis officiating. There will be a 4:30 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. The casket bearers will be Ron Landherr, Tom Landherr, Jerry Matheis, Alan Jorgenson, Randy Jorgenson, Tony Olson.
