Passenger injured after car strikes turkey

GENEVA — A 66-year-old Bricelyn woman was injured Monday evening after a wild turkey reportedly struck her car window on Interstate 35 north of Geneva.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Mary Haukoos was transported by Ellendale ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for facial injuries. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The State Patrol said Haukoos was the passenger in a 2003 Honda Civic LX. Her husband, Ronald Haukoos, 72, was the driver.
The crash happened at about 6 p.m. near milepost 21.
