ACS to hold business grand opening on Oct. 1
A longtime computer wiz is making a name for himself with a new storefront in Hayfield.
ACS, or Affordable Computer Solutions, has already been open intermittently in LeRoy for more than a year; however, about a month ago owner Derek MeGraw expanded his business to better reach his clients — and to add more.
MeGraw, who fixed his first computer at 8 years old and who has been tinkering with TVs, video games and more for years, is a professional at the house call. He does a lot of them.
“We’ll do house calls for just about anything,” he said.
MeGraw loves the challenge and satisfaction of working on computers and the two sides of it: hardware and software.
“They’re just a big puzzle,” he said of computers.
Along with his experience, he’s supremely confident in his work.
“I’ve just been a problem solver all my life,” MeGraw said. “There is nothing I can’t fix.”
While MeGraw can do the odd, tough fixes, he does plenty of hard drive upgrades, web designs, virus removals and virus protection software installations. MeGraw added he will install virus software on anyone’s computer for free.
MeGraw has another guru in the business, Ashley Appel, who he took under his wing and then let go on her own in Hayfield.
On Oct. 1, ACS will hold its grand opening, with hot dogs, cupcakes, juice and deals on service. MeGraw added those who log onto rochestermn.com on Monday, Sept. 24 will be able to receive coupons, as well.
ACS is located at both 8 West Main in Hayfield and 307 Cabot Street in LeRoy. It is online at acs-innovations.info.
