Vera I. Kaufmann, 86, of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Austin, Minn., died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Walker Health Care Center, Minneapolis.

Vera Ilene Kaufmann was born May 17, 1926, at Kinbrae, Minn., the daughter of Otto and Theresa (Busch) Moja. While living in Austin, Vera worked as a receptionist and consultant at the Diet Center and with the SEMCAC program. She was a volunteer for the Victim’s Crisis Center and she volunteered at Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she was a member.

Vera is survived by her children, Mike & Mary Forslund, Berwyn Heights, M.D., Mark & Jody Forslund, Austin, Steve & Barb Forslund, Shakopee, Minn., Kathy Forslund & Sheila McAuley, St. Paul, Minn., Gordy Kaufmann & Jill Lloyd, Minneapolis; grandchildren, Michael, Philip, Jarrod, John, Liza, Radnor; great-grandchild, Emma Rose Forslund; twin sister, Verna Gilbertson, Albert Lea, Minn.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Austin, Minn., with the Rev. Glenn L. Monson officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday morning. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
