Woodson Kindergarten Center’s got a new look this fall, and Woodson staff invite you to come see it.
The Woodson Open House will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, and residents are invited to look at all the new things going on at the school.
Woodson went through an expansion this summer as construction workers added six classrooms. Woodson Principal Jessica Cabeen said the public will be able to see the new classrooms, as well as the new office space, special education classroom, security measures, and play centers.
“It’s really just an opportunity for families, grandparents and community members to come in and take a look at the work that’s been done in a really short amount of time,” Cabeen said.
Residents will also be able to view an iPad demonstration, as kindergartners are using iPad applications to learn spelling and math starting this year. Austin Public Schools bought 108 iPads, or about six per classroom, for Woodson students.
Students came back to school on Sept. 4, but Woodson students on the year-round, 45/15 schedule started in August.
