Benefit planned for cancer victim

A benefit is planned for Friday to help one Austin resident.
The fundraiser will help the family of Mike Petersen, who was diagnosed with cancer. The event starts at 3 p.m. Friday and goes all night at the Mapleview Lounge & Bottle Shop, 204 Broadway in Austin.
There will be food for a free will donation, a silent auction from 4 to 8 p.m. and a bin to donate old or broken gold jewelry.
