Duane L. Whalen, 63, of Ely, Minn., passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at his home following a short illness.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at St. Augustine Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. A lite lunch and fellowship will follow the service.

Interment: Interment was held at an earlier date in the Ely Cemetery.
